Holi- A festival of colours!

ImageThis is my favourite month. March. lots of birthdays. Mine, my hubby’s, mom’s and  my favourite festival also falls in this month. HOLI!!! A festival of colours. people throw water balloons on each other, you can see colour everywhere. Not even a street dog is spared on this day. According to Indian mythology, Hiranakashyap, an egoistic king who wanted everyone to pray him wanted his son Prahlad to be burnt in fire. Prahlad was a devotee of lord Vishnu and prayed God not his father.     He willingly sat on a bunch of wood to be fired and prayed God to protect him. The fire couldn’t hurt him. From that day on, every year on holi people light fire and pray that all the evil and bad things be burnt in it. Holi signifies the triumph of good over evil. I am a bit late to wish but whatever…
